I enjoy writing. All the copy on this site is mine unless otherwise noted. It was my minor at college; I took three courses in writing short stories and one on essays. My best-known teacher was Frank Conroy, whose fame was unknown to me when I took his class at MIT in the 1982/3 school year. He taught me how to focus and clarify my writing, and how to let characters speak for themselves.
